I love photographing in Harvard Sq. I think too many people have a misconception of the area as having only one style. And that style being collegiate or preppy. I love it for all of it’s different styles and all of the interesting people you can meet in just one afternoon. Her look is truly her own and she wears it beautifully. From the flowers in her hair to her fishnets and everything in between.

I am loving those shoes! He has picked some really unique pieces and let’s them shine by not adding in too many distractions. He also does a nice job balancing the black of his outfit with that great tie dyed shirt. Great look!

She has such a cool way about her. I spotted her just like that leaning against the building taking in the action. And her look reflects her attitude. Original and cool. Loving those boots and that awesome hat!

I love when you can tell that someone really has a “look.” And he most certainly does. From the awesome leather jacket to the perhaps even more awesome leather pants and everything in between. He is doing some awesome layering to create great depth and texture in his look. Well done!

Like Spring indeed! The cut and fit of her leather jacket is perfect to pair with her bright, floral skirt. She keeps things casual with her converse kicks but still edgy with her leather accents. Great look!

  7. We were so excited to be invited to shoot IDENTITES,  the annual Harvard Fashion show. We love shooting street style but it’s always nice to have a change of pace especially when it includes a fresh and interesting fashion show by the students of Harvard.
Here is direct quote from the show’s program “IDENTITIES inspires people to see fashion as more than just frivolous trends, and rather as a vehicle for personal expression and social commentary.”
This struck such a chord with us because that is one of our missions with the blog. We want to celebrate each person’s sense of individuality and personal style rather than what is currently trending in the latest issue of Vogue.

As we were watching we kept thinking to ourselves “If we saw that outfit on the street, would we want to take their picture?” Overwhelmingly the answer was yes. Here are some of the highlights. And if you missed out this time, there is always next year :)

Her look seems so effortless. She has mixed some great feminine pieces (like the skirt) with some more sporty pieces (like the hat) for a result that is comfortable and casual yet interesting.

At first glance you might think he’s rocking yet another of the ever so popular leather sleeved jackets that are all over the streets right now. Upon closer examination, it becomes clear that he’s made the look his own by layering a denim vest on top of his leather jacket. The pattern in his pants and those sporty pops of read round out the look quite nicely.

I love the juxtaposition of the coat and the boots. Something about the coat is very formal, with that awesome collar and military inspired gold buttons. The details of the boots introduce a different look which adds depth to his style. Lastly the paint splattered paints. Whether they are a style choice or a by-product of his craft, they add yet another layer of visual interest to his overall look!
